Ramla Prison Hospital Confiscates Prisoners Possessions

RAMALLAH, February 14, 2011 (WAFA) - The Palestinian Prisoner’s Club (PPC) said on Monday that the administration of al-Ramla prison hospital confiscated possessions of sick prisoners transferred to the hospital.

The PPC said that the prison hospital authorities used to allow prisoners transferred from one prison to Ramla would mostly bring sweets for the sick in the hospital. Now, it said, the hospital administration has banned it, describing this act as cruel.

A spokesman for the PPC said that this act is an attempt to deprive the prisoners from rights they gained through hunger strikes.

The PPC told prisoners not to enter Ramla hospital if the administration is going to confiscate their belongings.
