RAMALLAH, January 21, 2009 (WAFA)- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas received, Wednesday, a phone call from the new American President Barak Obama, on his first day as president.
President Abbas congratulated President Obama on his inauguration, and urged him to work for achieving the comprehensive, durable and just peace, and to work according to the international legitimacy and the Arab peace initiative.
The Palestinian presidency spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeina, said that President Obama assured President Abbas that he and his administration will work to achieve peace in the Middle east and that he will not spare an effort to achieve that,
President Obama also affirmed that his administration will be President Abbas’ partner in establishing the Palestinian associations, achieving peace, and reconstruction.
