Japan-Arab Economic Forum Established

TOKYO, January 20, 2009 (WAFA)- The Japanese Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Economy and Trade and Industry announced, Tuesday, the establishment of the Japan-Arab Economic Forum with the Arab League in cooperation with relevant governmental and private organizations, for the purpose of strengthening economic ties between Japan and Arab countries.

 

The Forum, according to a press release issued Tuesday, aims at reinforcing the Arab-Japanese economic relations, through cooperation in such fields as trade and investment promotion, energy, technology and human resources development.

 

With the participation of relevant governmental organizations and private economic organizations, the Forum is expected to be an active all-Japan undertaking, the press released said, the first Forum is planned to be held in Tokyo this fall, and the second in Tunis, Tunisia, in 2010.
