JERUSALEM, December 29, 2006 (WAFA)- The US Consul Consul General in Jerusalem Jacob Walles congratulated the Palestinian people on the occasion of the Eid al-Adha.
In a message, Mr.Walles said: over the past year, I have been fortunate to have met with Palestinians from across the [Palestinian] territories and all sectors of society. I am grateful for the continued warm reception I have received as the representative of the United States. I want to take this opportunity to reaffirm the strong ties of friendship between the American and Palestinian people and my commitment to strengthen and enhance these bonds between our people.
"To those pilgrims who will soon be returning from the hajj, I want to express my admiration for your dedication and respect for your commitment to the Islamic principals of sacrifice and obedience," he added. "All Americans can find inspiration in your strength of purpose and selflessness."
"As we begin a new year, I look forward to working with my Palestinian friends to find ways to move this region forward to peace and security," Mr. Walles concluded the message.
