GAZA, March 27, 2006, (WAFA)- Prime Minister-designate Ismael Haniyya said Monday that the (Hamas ruling) coming government is ready to talk with the Quartet Committee for achieving peace and stability in the region.
Speaking in Gaza before the Palestinian Legislative Council, Haniyya called on the international community, including the Quartet, to "be bias to justice" for achieving the just and comprehensive peace in the region.
Haniyya, who was presenting the political programme of the new government, called the international community to end threatening of imposing sanctions against the Palestinian people for its democratic choice.
He praised the EU for supporting the Palestinian people and Russia for its stand to chose dialogue (with Hamas) rather than threatening.
During his statement, Haniyya asserted that the coming Government would establish strong relations with the international community including the UN for strengthening the comprehensive peace and stability.
He also called on the EU to reconsider its stand regarding the struggle in the region, expecting a "bigger role" from the EU to pressurize the Israeli occupation to withdraw from the Palestinian territories.
The PM-designate, said that the new Palestinian Government will deal and adopt all the agreements signed by PLO and PNA.
He added that his government would achieve the national and legal rights through protecting the Palestinian people in fighting the Israeli occupation, dismantling the colonies and tearing down the Apartheid Wall.
