President Condemns Trial of Saadat, Israeli Military Escalation
CAIRO, March 27, 2006 (WAFA) - President Mahmoud Abbas condemned Monday the trial of PFLP Secretary General, Ahmed Saadat in Ofer Israeli military Court in Ramallah city.
He also condemned the Israeli policy of assassination and military against Palestinian citizens as well as Jewish extremist threats to break into al-Aqsa Holy Mosque in the occupied East Jerusalem.
Presidency Spokesperson, Nabil Abu Rdaina told WAFA that President called on the Quartet to immediately intervene to end Israeli military escalation and to preserve peace and security in the Occupied Territories.
Abu Rdaina said the President stressed that a negotiated solution based on the Road Map peace plan and international legitimacy resolutions is the only way for peace and security in the region.
The Spokesperson asserted that the trial of Saadat is illegal, demanding Britain and the American administration to force Israel hand back PFLP Secretary General, Ahmed Saadat and his companions to the PNA custody.
