Shortage in Medicine in GS
KHAN YOUNIS, March 27, 2006 (WAFA) - The General Director of European- Gaza hospital, Dr. Mohammed Abu Shahla warned Monday against the shortage in the medicine and milk for children as a result of the continued Israeli closure of the crossings in the Gaza Strip (GS).
He told WAFA that 500 patients who suffer from cancer and blood diseases were directly affected due to shortage of medicine.
The General Director added that the storages of the Ministry of Health (MOH) are empty of medicine that caused the deterioration of the patients' health.
Abu Shahla called on the international community and the human rights organizations to immediately intervene to pressurize Israel to open the crossings and to allow the access of the medicine and the medical supplies.
