Farmers Replants Olive Trees Destroyed by Colonizers in Salem
NABLUS, December 23, 2005 (WAFA)- Palestinian farmers, joined by international and Israeli peace activists replanted Friday hundreds of olive trees destroyed by colonizers in the West Bank (WB) village of Salem near Nablus.
International Solidarity Movement (ISM) said that the replant took place in the area of "Alon More" colony, revealing that Israeli colonizers cut down on November 27, 200 trees, and in October burned 50 acres and destroyed more than 300 trees.
Salem villagers have difficulties accessing 2,500 dunams of their land due to colonizers violence, and Israeli authorities have failed to provide adequate protection.
In Bil'in near Ramallah, villagers joined by Israeli and International activists marched to there lands cut off by the Apartheid Wall, to protest the Israeli illegal construction of the Wall.
ISM said that the two events are a part of nonviolent resistance programmes.
