OIC: Balanced Approaches Essential for Lasting Peace in ME
JEDDAH, December 19, 2005,(WAFA)-The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) said that balanced and effective approaches are essential for a just and lasting peace in the Middle East.
In a press release issued Monday, the General Secretariat welcomed the stance of the European Union regarding the Middle East peace process during the EU meeting held in Brussels.
The General Secretariat affirmed the importance to run the Palestinian Legislative elections in its proposed time, hoping that the election process will proceed under free and conducive conditions particularly in Jerusalem.
It also urged all the Palestinian factions to participate in the political process and cooperate with the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) for the successful completion of these elections.
The General Secretariat reiterated that balanced, fair and effective approaches on the part of the international community are essential for genuine contributions to a just and lasting solution of the Middle East conflict.
