Al-Kidwa Holds Meetings with Foreign Counterparts
NEW YORK, September 20, 2005, (WAFA)- Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Al-Kidwa, met his British counterpart, Jack Straw, in New York, and discussed the debatable issues after the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.
During his meeting, Al-Kidwa stressed key issues especially the border crossings, airport, and the integrity of the Gaza Strip (GS) and the West Bank (WB).
Al-Kidwa called Straw to pressurize Israel to stop the building of the Apartheid Wall and colonies, to implement the Road Map and to back to the negotiation table.
Minister of Foreign Affairs also met the Swiss counterpart, Ms. Micheline Calmy-Rey.
He discussed with her the political issues in the Middle East and the draft resolution for additional protocol to be annexed to the 4th Geneva Convention.
Al-Kidwa mentioned that joining the "David Red Star" to the ICRC should be preceded by an Israeli recognition of the Palestinian rights according to the 4th Geneva Convention.
Minister Al-Kidwa met the foreign ministers of the KSA, Prince Saud Al-Faysal, of Jordan, Farouq Kasrawi, Alberto Romulo, of Tunisia Abdelbaki Hermassi.
Al-Kidwa discussed, with his counterparts, the key issues relevant to the Palestinian situation after the Israeli evacuation from the Gaza Strip.
