Police Starts Search for Landmines in Vacated Colonies
GAZA, September 19, 2005 (WAFA)- The Palestinian police has launched on Monday a landmine detection campaign in the areas close to the evacuated colonies in the Gaza Strip.
In a press release, Ministry of Interior said the military engineering department started a wide-scale campaign of search for landmines that might be left by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in the colonies Israel evacuated.
It added that the police uses state-of-the-art equipment, asserting that the department managed to detect a number of anti-personnel landmines.
