RAMALLAH, May 26, 2004, (WAFA) – In a meeting headed in Ramallah by President Yasser Arafat, the PLO Executive Committee, and various Palestinian organizations, the Leadership called ,Tuesday, on the international community and the Quartet to immediately intervene to provide international protection to the Palestinian people in the light of the Israeli Occupation Forces' war crimes.... The Leadership appreciated the recent Arab Summit resolutions which confirmed Arab states' commitment to a just, lasting and comprehensive peace in the region.... ' Achieving peace, based on Arab Initiative in Beirut 2002, Madrid Conference, land for peace principle and Israeli withdrawal to 1967 borders as well as solving the refugees' issue and establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, is an Arab strategic choice," the Leadership said .... The Leadership expressed its readiness to bear responsibility on any Palestinian land that Israeli forces pull out of, adding that it would commit to its obligations along side the Road Map peace plane....
