WEST BANK, May 20, 2004, (WAFA)- Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) shot dead Thursday one Palestinian citizen in the West Bank city of Tulkarem and arrested 30 citizens in the city of Jenin, Palestinian security sources and witnesses said.... The sources said that Israeli soldiers killed one citizen and wounded another between the two villages of Rameen and 'Anabta, near Tulkarem.... They added that the Israeli soldiers kidnapped the wounded and led him to an undisclosed area.... In the meantime, Israeli troops swept into the city of Jenin and its camp, imposed curfew and arrested at least thirty Palestinian citizens, Palestinian security sources and witnesses said.... Witnesses said that tens of Israeli armoured vehicles rolled into the city and the camp of Jenin amidst intensive fire and arrested tens of citizens.... "They swept into our camps under a cover of intensive fire from air and tanks, my children were sleeping, they went into a state of Panic," witness Walid al-Hijawi told WAFA reporter.... "Israeli soldiers launched a house-to-house search campaign and arrested tens of citizens and carried them in military vehicles," al-Hijawi added.... Palestinian security sources said Israeli parachutist were dismounted and positioned in the al-Douha, Jabryat and Sa'adeh neighbourhoods, witnesses told WAFA.... "The Israeli troops occupied the UN HQ's and a mosque, taking positions atop and turning them into posts," security official said....
