Rafah, May 19, 2004, (WAFA)- At least ten Palestinian citizens, including children, were wantonly slaughtered and sixty others were wounded, several critically, when Israeli Apache helicopters fired Wednesday missiles at a peaceful demonstration in Rafah, Palestinian medical sources and witnesses said.... Initial medical reports said that 10 citizens were killed on the spot when Israeli copters fired missiles on a demonstration. Tens others were wounded in the same terrorist attack, 15 in critical conditions, according to Ministry of Health (MOH).... Al-Najjar Hospital, in Rafah, appealed to the people to contribute with blood as it suffers from shortage of blood because of the high number of the victims in the current Israeli massacre in Rafah, WAFA reporter said.... Hundreds of Palestinian citizens were participating in a demonstration organized to protest against the ongoing massacre in the neighbourhood of Tal al-Sultan in Rafah, said the reporter.... Everyone was shocked because no one expected that the Israeli rudeness would reach to the extent of firing rockets at defenseless children and men were peacefully demonstrating in Rafah,” said Abu Hassanein.... Abdel Karim al-Sha'er, another 26-year-old witness said that "Apache helicopters fired the first rocket, and then hundreds of people started to run and hide," adding "I felt on the ground and I heard the huge explosion and saw the remains of children and men flying in the air.".... "This is a real massacre committed directly and on purpose by the Israeli forces against a peaceful demonstration,” said al Sha'er, adding “there were no militants or gunmen participating in the march.".... "Women, children and men were marching in a peaceful demonstration and heading to al-Sultan neighbourhood when Israeli helicopters pounced them to shreds," eyewitness, Mohammed Abu Hashem, told WAFA reporter.... Medics and volunteers carried the dead and the wounded to ambulances and civil vehicles..... "The medics could not deal with the incidents, the wounded and the killed ones were scattered in the streets," Abu Hashem added..... Earlier on Wednesday, four citizens, including a child were killed, including a 13-year-child, Saber Abu Libda, in Rafah..... "Israeli soldiers used loudspeakers to order the people between 16-60 year to gather in a school, when Abu Libda and his brothers left the house an Israeli snipers shot them," eyewitness told WAFA in a phone call..... Tens of wounded citizens are still suffering pains in there homes as Israeli troops target ambulances preventing them from evacuating the victims, al-Najjar Hospital said..... Yesterday, 20 citizens were also slaughtered by Israeli armed-to-teeth soldiers in the neighbourhood of Tal al-Sultan.... So far, the death toll of the Israeli massacre in Rafha has risen to 34 in the two consecutive day.
