School Stormed in Bethlehem, Howwara under Curfew
NABLUS, April 27, 2004 (WAFA) Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) imposed Tuesday a rigid curfew on Hawwara village of Nablus, witnesses said.... Witnesses told WAFA reporter that IOF tanks and armoured vehicles stormed the village and imposed a tight curfew as they also closed schools and all governmental and non-governmental institutions.... Witnesses affirmed that Israeli patrols are moving in the village streets, indiscriminately shooting fire at civilians' houses, preventing them from going out.... Meanwhile, teachers of "Taqoo' High School", in Bethlehem, said that Israeli soldiers violently tried to storm the school, but the teachers repulsed the attack. Mayor of Taqoo' Suleiman Abu Mefreh, said that this is a premeditated crime which targets Palestinian students in particular and educational institutions in general, adding that storming schools is a daily Israeli policy practiced against Palestinian schools under the allegation of searching for wanted civilians.
