RAMALLAH, Friday, May 15, 2020 (WAFA) – Minster of Health Mai Alkaila confirmed today six more cases of novel COVID-19 (coronavirus) in Jerusalem, raising the total cases reported in Palestine to date to 554, including 119 active cases.
She said the six new cases were for people from the occupied Jerusalem neighborhood of Al-Thawri who came into contact with a woman who had previously been tested positive for the virus.
Meanwhile, Alkaila said five people have recovered, which brings up the total recoveries to 431, representing 77 percent of the total cases.
The Health Minister added that today was the eight day with no new coronavirus cases documented in any of the govenrorates of Palestine, with the exception of occupied Jerusalem.
She said 4881 people were sent to home quarantine brining up the total people under home quarantine to 16544.
In the meantime, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said a total of 80 Palestinians in the diaspora have died from coronavirus, while the total infections have reached 1487, and the recoveries reached 693.
