JENIN, Saturday, June 01, 2019 (WAFA) – Palestinian political prisoner in Israeli jails Ja’far Abu Hananeh completes today 15 years behind Israeli prison bars, said the Palestinian Prisoner Society.
Abu Hananeh, who comes from the village of Arraneh near Jenin in the occupied West Bank, was arrested on June 1, 2004, and was given a life sentence for resisting the Israeli occupation. He is currently incarcerated in the Israeli prison of Asqalan.
Abu Hananeh has been sent to solitary confinement several times and was denied family visits by Israeli prison authorities, his family told WAFA correspondent.
More than 5,500 Palestinian prisoners are currently imprisoned by Israel for resisting its occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem as well as the Golan Heights.
