WASHINGTON, April 22, 2018 (WAFA) – Minister of Finance and Planning Shukri Bishara Sunday stressed the importance of supporting the budget of the State of Palestine so that the government can meet its financial obligations and achieve economic growth.
During his participation in the meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC, Bishara reviewed the financial and economic situation in Palestine and gave an overview of the reform effort currently being exerted by the Palestinian government.
He met with Arab Finance Ministers and held several meetings with the World Bank Executive Director Merza Hasan and Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department at the International Monetary Fund Jihad Azour in the presence of the Governor of the Palestinian Monetary Authority, Azzam Al Shawa.
Bishara stressed the importance of the role of the International Monetary Fund in supporting and developing the Palestinian economy and discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation and implement a number of developmental and vital projects in Palestine.
