Bethlehem, March 22, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces uprooted on Wednesday a number of trees planted the day before by the Environmental Quality Authority (EQA), the Environmental Organizations Network and Laji Center in Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem, according to a statement by the EQA.

It said the trees were planted in an area isolated by the segregation wall and is used by the occupation authorities as a dumping site, which has badly affected the health and environmental situation of Aida camp.

The trees, planted as part of the Palestinian National Environment Day, were meant to improve the environment in an area destroyed by Israeli dump.

The EQA accused Israel of deliberately obstructing Palestinian environmental plans as well as land reclamation projects by uprooting trees and building settlements and the wall on agricultural Palestinian land.
