Israeli forces detain seven Palestinians, including journalist, in West Bank

RAMALLAH, March 12, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces overnight and early Sunday detained seven Palestinians, including a journalist and a female, during military raids in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said in a statement.

PPS said Israeli soldiers detained three Palestinians, including a journalist and a 23-year-old female, from the Ramallah area. The journalist was identified as Mus’ab Ibrahim Sa’id, 28.

Soldiers detained two other Palestinians from the town of Beddo, northwest of Jerusalem, another from the city of Nablus, and one more from the city of Tulkarem.

PPS said at least 13 Palestinians were detained over the past two days, including two women from Jerusalem.

According to a joint report by the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS), Al Mezan center for Human Rights, and Prisoners Support and Human Rights Association, Israel has arrested 498 Palestinians, including 108 children, 19 women and a journalist in the West Bank and Gaza Strip in February 2017 alone.
