Abbas: government to compensate farmers affected by extreme weather

RAMALLAH, March 5, 2017 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas said on Sunday that the government of the State of Palestine will be compensating Palestinian farmers who have been affected by the recent extreme weather conditions.

This came as he received a delegation of farmers from Tubas district, northeast of the West Bank, at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah. During the meeting, Abbas praised the efforts of the Palestinian farmers to uphold the agricultural sector and their role in boosting national economy.

The delegation, meanwhile, stressed that all Palestinian farmers will continue to adhere to their work despite of the many obstacles which they face due to the Israeli occupation.
