RABAT, July 11, 2026 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday awarded Moroccan engineer Ahmed El Biaz the Yabus Star of the Yasser Arafat Medal in recognition of his professional achievements and contributions to Palestinian-Moroccan relations.
The medal was presented on behalf of President Abbas by Palestine's Ambassador to Morocco, Jamal Al-Shobaki, during a ceremony held in the Moroccan capital, Rabat.
El Biaz received the honor in recognition of his distinguished professional and national career, his leading role in the establishment of Gaza International Airport and his support for the civil aviation sector at the Arab and international levels.
The award also recognized his efforts to strengthen the longstanding ties of brotherhood between Morocco and Palestine.
