President Abbas congratulates Palestinians and Muslim world on start of Ramadan

RAMALLAH, February 17, 2026 (WAFA) — President Mahmoud Abbas extended congratulations on Tuesday to Palestinians at home and abroad, as well as to Arab and Islamic nations, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

The President congratulated the Palestinian people for their steadfastness on their land and expressed hope that the occasion would return with their aspirations for freedom and independence fulfilled, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He called on Palestinians to strengthen solidarity and unity during the difficult circumstances facing the country, expressing wishes for mercy for those killed, recovery for the injured, and relief for detainees.

President Abbas also conveyed greetings to Arab and Islamic nations, expressing hope that Ramadan would bring goodness and blessings, strengthen unity, and support the aspirations of peoples for development and progress.
