Ramallah, February 3, 2026 (WAFA) – Presidential Spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh stated that Katz's announcement of the Israeli government's intention to legalize more than 140 colonial farms in the West Bank is "condemned and rejected, and constitutes a major escalation in the implementation of the annexation and racist expansion policies by the occupation authorities."
Abu Rudeineh added that the occupation's announcement of legalizing these settlement farms comes within the context of a gradual Israeli plan aimed at expelling Palestinian residents from their pastoral communities and implementing annexation and displacement measures.
He emphasized that all colonial activity is illegal in the occupied Palestinian territory according to international law and UN resolutions, particularly UN Security Council Resolution 2334.
The presidential spokesperson pointed out that these so-called agricultural farms are settlement outposts that complement the acts of terrorism perpetrated by settlers under the protection and support of the Israeli army. He held the Israeli government fully responsible for the consequences of this escalation, which aims to undermine international efforts to halt the escalation and restore calm.
Abu Rudeineh called on the international community, especially the US administration, to intervene immediately to stop these Israeli policies aimed at sabotaging international efforts to stop the escalation and calm the situation, and called on international legal institutions to carry out their responsibilities towards implementing international law and international legitimacy.
