RAMALLAH, January 13, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD) said that the low-pressure system will intensify across the country today, Tuesday, bringing cloudy, very cold, and windy conditions.
A further significant drop in temperatures is expected, falling below the seasonal average. Rain is expected in most areas, becoming heavy at times and accompanied by thunderstorms and occasional hail. Winds will be southwesterly to westerly, brisk with occasional strong gusts reaching up to 80 km/h. Sea waves will be high.
During the evening and night, the weather will remain cloudy and very cold, with scattered showers expected, possibly accompanied by thunderstorms. The chance of precipitation will decrease during the late night hours. Winds will be southwesterly to westerly, brisk with occasional strong gusts reaching up to 80 km/h. Sea waves will be high.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, the weather will be cloudy to partly cloudy and cold to very cold, with a continued chance of scattered rain in some areas. By midday, the low-pressure system will begin to weaken, and temperatures will rise slightly. Winds will be active, blowing from the west to northwest. Sea waves will be high.
On Thursday, the weather will be partly cloudy with a slight rise in temperatures, remaining cold. There is still a slight chance of light, scattered showers in some areas. Winds will be light to moderate, blowing from the southwest to northwes. Sea waves will be moderately high.
Meanwhile on Friday, the weather will be partly cloudy with a slight rise in temperatures, remaining cold, especially in mountainous areas. Winds will be light to moderate, blowing from the east to northeast. Sea waves will be low.
The PMD warned citizens during the country’s exposure to the low-pressure system of the dangers of: high wind speeds, which in some gusts reach 80 km/h, the formation of torrents and floods in valleys and low-lying areas, slipping on roads as a result of hail, and reduced horizontal visibility.
