RAMALLAH, July 25, 2026 (WAFA) — Yasser Abbas, a member of the Fatah Central Committee and Commissioner for Foreign Relations, called on international institutions and civil society organizations, Arab, regional and international political parties, and supporters of the Palestinian cause to take action against the escalating attacks carried out by Israeli colonists against unarmed Palestinians.
In a message, Abbas highlighted the dangerous escalation in colonist violence, citing as the latest example the massacre in Tell village on Friday, carried out by colonists under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, followed by further attacks against Palestinians in villages, cities and refugee camps across the occupied Palestinian territory.
He warned that the continued perpetration of such crimes without legal accountability encourages the extremist Israeli government to continue its violations and pursue its expansionist and colonial policies.
Abbas stressed that colonist violence and the systematic crimes and policies of the Israeli government, including the genocidal war against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, seek to entrench colonization, impose facts on the ground by force and forcibly displace Palestinians from their land.
He said such policies constitute clear violations of international humanitarian law and the relevant Geneva Conventions.
Abbas called on the international community, the United Nations, the European Union, and all political parties and advocates of justice, freedom and human rights to uphold their legal and moral responsibilities by taking practical measures to halt the escalation and colonist violence and provide international protection for the Palestinian people.
He also called for accountability mechanisms to be activated and for those responsible for colonist crimes and the genocidal war to be pursued and held accountable under international law and relevant international resolutions, describing these acts as crimes against humanity and among the gravest violations of international law that undermine prospects for peace and stability in the region.
He reaffirmed the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and to establish an independent, sovereign state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
