Al-Sheikh holds intensive contacts on U.S. decision to deny visas to Palestinian delegation for UNGA

RAMALLAH, August 30, 2025 (WAFA) – Hussein al-Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine and Deputy Chairman of the PLO Executive Committee, held extensive contacts with the U.S. administration, Saudi Arabia, France, the United Kingdom, Egypt, Jordan, and the United Nations regarding Washington's decision not to grant the Palestinian delegation entry visas to attend the upcoming UN General Assembly meetings in New York.

Al-Sheikh stressed that the decision is in clear violation of international law and the Headquarters Agreement, especially as the State of Palestine is an observer member of the United Nations. He emphasized the need for the U.S. to reconsider and reverse its position.

He reaffirmed that the State of Palestine remains committed to international law, UN resolutions, and all obligations toward peace, as outlined in President Mahmoud Abbas’s letters to world leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump.
