President Abbas praised the courageous positions of these friendly states, which affirmed their commitment to the vision of a two-state solution and to peace based on international law and relevant UN resolutions. He reiterated his commitment to the pledges he made to implement this.

The President affirmed that the recognition of the State of Palestine by these states, or their declaration of their positive willingness to recognize the State of Palestine, represents a historic step toward achieving a just and comprehensive peace and strengthens international efforts to end the Israeli occupation and establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
