Abu Rudeineh: Israel fully responsible for settler attacks, massacres, and starvation policy

RAMALLAH, June 27, 2025 (WAFA) – Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesman for President Mahmoud Abbas, warned on Friday against the continued genocide and starvation campaign waged by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, in parallel with systematic settler terrorism targeting towns and villages across the West Bank.

He cited the latest settler attacks on Kafr Malik, Turmus Ayya, Surif, and Masafer Yatta, which resulted in the killing and injury of unarmed civilians and widespread destruction of public and private property.

Abu Rudeineh stressed that settler violence in the West Bank is part of an orchestrated plan by the Israeli occupation and its far-right government to provoke a full-scale confrontation, particularly through the army’s relentless raids in the northern West Bank, the fragmentation of the territory with military checkpoints and gates, and the official sponsorship of settler assaults. He held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the consequences of this ongoing bloodshed.

He called on the U.S. administration to intervene immediately and pressure Israel to halt the crimes committed by its military and settler militias. “If these crimes continue unchecked,” he warned, “the region will face greater and more dangerous escalation for which everyone will bear the consequences.”

Abu Rudeineh affirmed that Israel’s continued crimes against the Palestinian people will not bring peace or security to anyone. He reiterated that the only path to peace and stability lies in implementing international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, and in realizing the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
