RAMALLAH, June 23, 2025 (WAFA) – President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, received today, Monday, at the Presidential Headquarters in Ramallah, the Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia to the State of Palestine, Habib Ben Farah.
The ambassador delivered a letter from Tunisian President Kais Saied, reaffirming the deep fraternal relations between the two nations and peoples, and reiterating Tunisia's firm and principled stance in support of the Palestinian people and their just cause.
President Saied expressed his appreciation for the Palestinian leadership's gesture in awarding the “Knight of Palestine Medal” to the late Tunisian student, Fares Khaled, who passed away while raising the Palestinian flag at his university campus. He stressed that this honor reflects the unity of purpose and destiny between Tunisia and Palestine—“the central cause of the Arab nation.”
President Saied stated: "I received with great appreciation Your Excellency's noble initiative to award the "Knight of Palestine Medal" to the late Tunisian student Fares Khaled - may he rest in peace - who passed away while raising the Palestinian flag at the university where he studied. may he rest in peace.
He further affirmed Tunisia’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people in their heroic struggle to defend their inalienable rights, sacred sites, and land, and in their pursuit of full freedom, self-determination, and the establishment of an independent state on the entire land of Palestine, with East Jerusalem as its capital.”
President Saied also reaffirmed Tunisia’s steadfast commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in all fields.
In turn, President Abbas expressed his deep appreciation for Tunisia’s continued support, which continues to positively impact Palestine’s pursuit of legitimate rights and independence.
