RAMALLAH, May 26, 2025 (WAFA) – Palestinian Presidential Spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh warned that Israel’s ongoing military campaign in Gaza, alongside repeated incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and provocative acts such as raising the Israeli flag in occupied Jerusalem, threaten the stability of the entire region.

Abu Rudeineh described the situation as a grave escalation, highlighting the devastating impact of what he termed a “genocidal war” against the Palestinian people in Gaza, along with increasing violence in the West Bank.

He called on the United States to exert efforts to halt the massacre in Gaza and stop the escalating attacks in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Abu Rudeineh stressed that lasting peace and security in the region depend on a just resolution to the Palestinian cause, based on international legitimacy and the realization of Palestinian self-determination, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

He also noted ongoing preparations for the upcoming international conference on Palestine scheduled for mid-next month in New York, which aims to support the two-state solution in line with the Arab Peace Initiative, and encourage recognition of the State of Palestine by countries yet to do so.
