BEIRUT, May 22, 2025 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas received a phone call today from the leader of the Lebanese Forces party, Samir Geagea.

During the call, Geagea praised President Abbas for his consistent and principled stance on Lebanese-Palestinian relations, emphasizing that the President has always carried Lebanon in his heart and taken decisive steps to place bilateral relations on the right track.

Geagea also commended the President’s clear position on the issue of Palestinian arms in Lebanon. He praised the repeated affirmations from the Palestinian leadership that there should be no Palestinian weapons inside or outside the refugee camps, and that full respect must be shown to Lebanon’s sovereignty and legal authority.

President Abbas reaffirmed the deep-rooted and brotherly relations between Palestine and Lebanon, stressing his commitment to strengthening and advancing these ties to confront current regional challenges and serve the interests of both peoples.
