TULKARM, April 24, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression against the city of Tulkarm and its camp for the 88th consecutive day, and for the 75th day against Nour Shams camp, amid an ongoing escalation of incursions and house raids.
WAFA correspondent reported that the occupation forces launched a large-scale campaign of raids and house raids last night and early Thursday morning, targeting various areas of the city and its suburbs, accompanied by heavy firing of live ammunition and sound bombs.
She noted that the occupation forces raided the eastern neighborhood near the Abu Safiya junction, the northern neighborhood near the Younis roundabout, the employee housing in the Iktaba suburb, the entrance to the Dhnaba suburb, and the Rabaya neighborhood on the outskirts of Tulkarm camp, amid a heavy deployment of occupation soldiers around the targeted homes and buildings.
The occupation forces continue their siege of Nur Shams camp, deploying infantry units around it and within its neighborhoods, amidst the firing of live ammunition and sound bombs. Meanwhile, residents of Jabal al-Nasr and Jabal al-Salihin are being forcibly displaced after occupation soldiers forced them to evacuate their homes at gunpoint.
Tulkarm camp is also witnessing a heavy deployment of occupation soldiers, who have wreaked havoc and destruction on the property of its residents after expelling them, rendering the camp lifeless. Its entrances are sealed off with earth mounds and some sections of its neighborhoods with barbed wire.
At the same time, the city of Tulkarm is seeing a daily escalation in incursions and raids on its neighborhoods and markets. These raids include the deployment of foot and mobile vehicles, amid provocative and arbitrary measures against citizens, especially young men, including detention, abuse, and the confiscation of their ID cards and mobile phones. In many cases, these individuals are subjected to detentions.
The occupation forces also continue to seize homes and residential buildings on Nablus Street and the adjacent northern neighborhood, converting them into military barracks after forcibly evacuating their residents. They also station their vehicles and bulldozers in the vicinity.
The ongoing occupation attacks on the city of Tulkarm and its two refugee camps have resulted in the killing of 13 citizens, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant. They have also injured and detained dozens.
The attacks have also resulted in the forced displacement of more than 4,200 families from the Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps, comprising more than 24,000 residents. They have also displaced hundreds of residents from the city's northern neighborhood after their homes were seized and several were converted into military barracks.
The aggression caused widespread destruction to infrastructure, including homes, shops, and vehicles, which were completely and partially demolished, burned, vandalized, looted, and stolen. 396 homes were completely destroyed and 2,573 partially destroyed in the Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps, in addition to the closure of their entrances and alleys with earth mounds.
