NOUAKCHOTT, April 14, 2025 (WAFA) – The President's Special Envoy, Presidential Spokesperson, and member of the Fatah Central Committee, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, delivered a letter on Monday from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to the President of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.
This came during Abu Rudeineh's meeting with the Mauritanian President at the Presidential Palace in Nouakchott, in the presence of Palestinian Ambassador Mohammed Qasim Al-Asaad.
Abu Rudeineh thanked the Mauritanian President for his country's steadfast positions in support of the Palestinian people and their just cause in all international forums.
He affirmed Palestine's commitment to strengthening and developing the brotherly relations in all fields, through the activation of ministerial committees between the two countries for the benefit of the two peoples.
Abu Rudeineh reviewed the latest developments in Palestine, in light of the comprehensive aggression waged by the Israeli occupation government against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and its ongoing attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause.
He reiterated the Palestinian position on the need to immediately halt the aggression against the Palestinian people, ensure a full withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, accelerate the delivery of aid across the entire Gaza Strip, prevent displacement, halt Israeli attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, implement international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative to end the Israeli occupation, and establish the State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital.
For his part, the Mauritanian President affirmed his country's support for Palestine and its just cause, until the end of the occupation and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
He conveyed his greetings to President Abbas, praising his wisdom and ability to confront the challenges posed by the occupation to the Palestinian people and their cause.
The Mauritanian President affirmed his country’s and its people's support for the Palestinian people and their just cause, as well as its readiness to provide the necessary support to the State of Palestine in all international forums.
He also affirmed Mauritania’s readiness to fully cooperate to strengthen brotherly relations with Palestine in all fields, emphasizing that the Palestinian cause lies at the heart and conscience of every Mauritanian.
