Presidency warns of the recent Israeli evacuation orders for entire city of Rafah

RAMALLAH, March 31, 2025 (WAFA) - The Palestinian Presidency has strongly warned about the recent Israeli orders for the forced evacuation of the entire city of Rafah, which comes amidst a tragic toll of over 80 Palestinians killed by the Israeli war machine since the start of Eid al-Fitr.

In a statement, the Presidency condemned the Israeli displacement orders as illegal and a clear violation of international law, holding the Israeli occupation authorities fully responsible for the escalation, which will not bring security or stability to anyone.

The Presidency also called on Hamas to eliminate any excuses for continued Israeli aggression. The statement stressed the necessity for Hamas to safeguard the lives of Palestinian civilians and bring an end to the suffering in Gaza, which is currently enduring a genocidal war.

It also warned about the ongoing Israeli attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank, particularly the refugee camps of the northern region. The Presidency decried the killings, evacuations, home demolitions, and mass arrests, in addition to the continued destruction of urban infrastructure and the unchecked violence of settlers. These actions, the statement warned, would inevitably lead to greater instability, posing a genuine threat of disaster that could escalate the region into further chaos.

The Palestinian leadership reiterated the need for a fair and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause, in line with international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative. The statement emphasized that without such a resolution, the region would remain locked in an endless cycle of conflict, with all parties bearing the consequences.
