RAMALLAH, January 27, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian presidency warned of the consequences of the ongoing war against the Palestinian people by the Israeli occupation authorities, which has entered its second phase with an assault on the West Bank’s Tulkarem Governorate, which has so far resulted in the killing of two Palestinian citizens and the systematic destruction of infrastructure and civilian properties.
The presidency stated that this aggression coincides with the ongoing Israeli onslaught on Jenin, which has led to the killing of 17 citizens, the injury of 39 others and the detention of 28 more, as well as the destruction and burning of dozens of citizens' homes and widespread destruction to infrastructure.
The presidency held the Israeli occupation authorities responsible for the deterioration of the situation in the cities, villages and refugee camps of the West Bank, emphasizing that these attacks on the Palestinian people, land, and sanctities would not bring security or stability to anyone. Instead, they contribute to further escalation and violence, it added.
The presidency called on the new U.S. administration to put an end to the Israeli recklessness, which it warned would perpetuate instability and insecurity and undermine regional security, stressing that such actions would not resolve the region’s problems. This is necessary to achieve sustainable peace that halts conflicts and prevents future strife, it added in a statement.
