Presidency warns against engaging with dubious projects like mini-state and displacement, calling them a betrayal of Palestinian blood and sacrifices

RAMALLAH, January 27, 2025 (WAFA) - In response to several media reports discussing potential American and regional proposals for the establishment of a Mini-Palestinian state and an extensive land exchange with Israel, the Palestinian presidency issued a warning to the parties involved in such dubious projects, particularly Hamas, urging them not to persist in engaging with these plans.

The presidency emphasized that such schemes amount to a betrayal of the blood and sacrifices of the Palestinian people, who have been striving for a century to establish their independent state on their entire national soil, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The presidency reiterated its position, stating that peace and stability can only be achieved through the implementation of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative and the embodiment of an independent Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders.

It said that any solutions, whether a state with temporary borders or land swaps that undermine internationally recognized borders according to UN Security Council resolutions and the General Assembly are rejected, stressing that the Palestinian people will not allow them to pass at the expense of their struggle, national principles and sanctities.

The presidency called on Hamas and those involved in this conspiracy to reconsider their positions, prioritize the national interests of the Palestinian people over narrow partisan agendas, and avoid being drawn into projects which sole purpose is to liquidate the Palestinian cause.

It reaffirmed that any mini-state proposals, displacement plans, or attempts to revive rejected resettlement schemes will inevitably fail in the face of Palestinian steadfastness and sacrifices.
