RAMALLAH, January 12, 2025 (WAFA) – Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesman for President Mahmoud Abbas, stated today that the Palestinian leadership has been working tirelessly since the onset of the Israeli aggression on Gaza to halt the bloodshed and spare the Palestinian people from the horrors of the war, including death, destruction, and displacement.
Abu Rudeineh emphasized that President Mahmoud Abbas is conducting extensive communications and meetings with various Arab and international parties to expedite a ceasefire agreement that would bring about an end to the Israeli aggression.
These efforts aim to implement international resolutions, including UN Security Council Resolution 2735, which calls for an immediate ceasefire, the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid to Gaza, the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the area, and enabling the State of Palestine to assume full responsibility in Gaza.
"The time has come to compel the occupying state to end its all-out war on our people in Gaza, halt its aggression and violations in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and stop the ongoing settler terrorism against Palestinian land, people, and holy sites,” Abu Rudeineh stated.
He also condemned Israel's continued seizure of Palestinian land and tax funds, describing these actions as a form of piracy.
The spokesperson reiterated that adherence to Arab and international legitimacy is essential for achieving security and stability in the region.
