Jordan denounces Israeli colonists' incursions into Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem

AMMAN, December 29, 2024 (WAFA) - Jordan on Sunday denounced the Israeli colonists’ incursions into Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, holding Israel, as the occupying power, accountable for the violations that occurred under the protection of its police forces, as reported by Jordan’s news agency, Petra.

Spokesman of the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs, Sufian Al-Qudah, reiterated the “Kingdom's absolute rejection of the violations of the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites, calling on Israel to stop these raids and provocations, which are incited by far-right ministers in the Israeli government with the aim of imposing new facts on the ground.”

Qudah reiterated that Israel, the occupying power, has no sovereignty over the occupied city of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.

He added that the Al Aqsa Mosque, with its total area of 144 dunums, is exclusively a place of worship for Muslims, and that the Jerusalem Waqf Department of the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs is the only legal authority responsible for managing the mosque and regulating entry, according to Petra.
