HANOI, December 27, 2024 (WAFA) — President Mahmoud Abbas' special envoy and for International Relations, Minister Riyad al-Maliki, has delivered a message of congratulations to Vietnamese President Luong Cuong on behalf of President Abbas, following his assumption of the presidency.

During the meeting at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi on Friday, al-Maliki provided an update on the latest developments in Palestine. He briefed President Cuong on the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the dire situation in the West Bank, highlighting violations of Palestinian citizens' rights, as well as assaults on their properties.

Al-Maliki expressed gratitude to Vietnam for its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause in international forums. He emphasized that Vietnam’s solidarity with Palestine holds significant meaning for the Palestinian people and government, recognizing the nation as a long-standing ally in the struggle for freedom.

In response, President Cuong conveyed his greetings to President Abbas and reaffirmed Vietnam's historical and steadfast position in supporting the Palestinian people in their pursuit of freedom.

He expressed deep sympathy for the Palestinian people and admiration for their ongoing struggle, wishing success for Palestine in its continuous efforts to achieve independence and self-determination.
