RAMALLAH, December 26, 2024 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas expressed his condolences to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Thursday, following the tragic crash of an Azerbaijani passenger plane near the Kazakh city of Aktau.

In his telegram, President Abbas said: "We were deeply saddened to learn of the tragic loss of life in the crash of the Azerbaijani passenger plane near Aktau, Kazakhstan. As we share in your sorrow during this difficult time, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Your Excellency, the people of Azerbaijan, and the families of the victims."

"We thank God for the survival of some passengers and pray for the souls of the departed, asking the Almighty to grant them His mercy. We also wish a speedy recovery to the injured and pray for the safety and prosperity of you and your people."
