RAMALLAH, December, 26, 2024 (WAFA) – At the presidential headquarters in Ramallah, President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas received the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Counselor Muhammad Abdul Ghani Al-Awiwi, in the presence of the member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Ziad Abu Amr, and the President's Advisor for Legal Affairs, Wael Lafi.
Al-Awiwi briefed President Abbas on the development witnessed by the regular courts sector, following a number of measures introduced by the Supreme Judicial Council to accelerate the pace of litigation and adjudication of submitted lawsuits, which provides full support to the justice sector in general, and to regular courts in a way that benefits the citizen and enhances his confidence in the Palestinian judiciary.
In turn, President Abbas appreciated the efforts made by the Supreme Judicial Council to develop the work of regular courts, and facilitate litigation before them to preserve the rights of citizens, and accelerate access to justice, stressing his full support for the judiciary sector.
These amendments were made with the aim of accelerating litigation procedures in order to achieve speedy adjudication of cases pending before regular courts and enforcement departments, by introducing electronic means into judicial procedures.
