RAMALLAH, December 22, 2024 (WAFA) - President Mahmoud Abbas Sunday received an invitation to attend the Christmas Eve and Midnight Mass in Bethlehem, celebrated according to the Julian calendar.

Several orthodox Christian religious leaders visited the President at his Ramallah headquarters, where they handed him the invitation.

President Abbas extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Palestinian people celebrating Christmas according to the Eastern calendar, as well as to all members of Christian communities observing the Eastern tradition.

The president expressed hope that the holidays would arrive with the cessation of Israeli aggression and the shedding of Palestinian blood, enabling believers to celebrate the sacred festivities with love, security and peace.

President Abbas called for Christmas celebrations to be limited to religious observances, in consideration of the difficult circumstances the Palestinian people are enduring.
