SANTIAGO, December 20, 2024 (WAFA) - Chilean President Gabriel Boric participated in a Christmas tree lighting ceremony organized by the Palestinian community in Santiago on Tuesday, highlighting his unwavering support for the Palestinian people.
The tree was decorated with 45,000 lights in memory of the Palestinian victims who were killed in the Israeli occupation’s ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip.
During the ceremony, the Chilean president called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a war criminal, adding that: “We will not be passive spectators. We have not been, and we will not be passive spectators in the face of so much injustice and pain, consciously inflicted on children, women, the elderly and innocent people of all ages.”
He stressed that Chile's position on the Palestinian cause is a steadfast national policy, reaffirming that Chile will always side with humanity.
