CAIRO, December 19, 2024 (WAFA) – The special session on Palestine and Lebanon at the 11th summit of the D8 Organization for Economic Cooperation officially began today in Egypt's New Administrative Capital, with President Mahmoud Abbas in attendance.
During the session, President Abbas is expected to deliver a speech addressing the latest developments in Palestine, focusing on the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the escalating Israeli violence in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
The 11th D8 summit, which was inaugurated earlier today, is being held under the theme "Investing in Youth and Supporting Small and Medium Enterprises: Shaping the Economy of Tomorrow." The summit, chaired by Egypt, is focusing on ways to tackle the rapidly changing global economic and political landscape and enhance economic cooperation among member states.
The D8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, which was founded to promote economic and political collaboration among developing countries, comprises Egypt, Turkey, Bangladesh, Iran, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, and Pakistan.
