CAIRO, December 17, 2024 (WAFA)( - The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, highlighted the significant importance the Arab side places on the French government's recognition of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders.

He stated that this move aligns with France's leadership role in Europe and represents a crucial step towards advancing and implementing the two-state solution on the ground.

This statement came during a meeting on Tuesday at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, where Aboul Gheit received a delegation of French MPs from the Senate's Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed Forces Committee.
