Mansour sends three letters to UN officials regarding Israeli's aggression in Gaza and West Bank

NEW YORK, December, 17, 2024 (WAFA) – The Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, Minister Riyad Mansour, sent three identical letters to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Security Council for this month (the United States of America), and the President of the United Nations General Assembly, regarding the continuation of Israel, the occupying power, of waging a war of genocide in the occupied Gaza Strip.

Mansour referred in his letters to the suffering of the Palestinian people from mass killing, mutilation, displacement, mass kidnapping, imprisonment, collective punishment, and famine under the Israeli siege and continuous attack on them.

Mansour also pointed out that the Israeli aggression extended to the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, noting that the Israeli occupation forces and colonists continue their daily attacks on the Palestinian civilian population, which resulted in the killing  of 986 Palestinians, including 210 children, and the injury of 15,879, according to the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs between January 2023 and November 2024.

Mansour also noted that Israel continues its campaign of mass detentions, as 12,100 Palestinians have been detained, including 440 women and 795 children, who are being held by Israel in dire conditions, in addition to being subjected to physical and psychological abuse, medical neglect and torture, including sexual violence.

Mansour concluded his letters by calling on holding Israel accountable for the war crimes it continues to commit in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, stressing the need for immediate and serious collective efforts to stop this massacre and the starvation of Palestinian children, women and men in Gaza.
