BEIRUT, December 12, 2024 (WAFA) – Two Lebanese civilians were killed, and one was injured in an Israeli airstrike on the town of Khiyam in southern Lebanon today, according to local sources.
Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned the attack, calling it "a blatant act of betrayal" that violates the commitments made by the parties that brokered the ceasefire agreement, namely the United States and France. Mikati called on both nations to take a clear stance on the attack and to curb Israeli aggression.
The Prime Minister also stressed that these ongoing violations should be addressed by the Monitoring Committee responsible for overseeing the implementation of the ceasefire. Mikati demanded immediate, decisive action to prevent further escalation and ensure such incidents do not recur.
