Israeli forces demolish two Palestinian homes, uproot dozens of olive trees in Masafer Yatta

HEBRON, December, 11, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces demolished two Palestinian homes and a tent on Wednesday, and uprooted dozens of olive trees in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron.

Anti-colonial activist Osama Makhamreh said that the occupation forces tore down two homes with an area of 80 square meters, and a tent, owned by citizen Raed Al-Amour, which sheltered 10 members of his family.

He added that the occupation forces destroyed water tanks and other facilities, uprooted more than 50 olive trees, and destroyed a fence and stone walls in the Khirbet Al-Fakhit area in Masafer Yatta, under the pretext that it is located within a so-called military zone.

Makhamereh continued, "The excuses and reasons that the occupation is promoting are nothing but tools for deception and these and other demolitions are part of a colonial policy aimed at displacing residents from those areas, in favor of colonial expansion."

He pointed out that the colonists,  less than two months ago, under the protection of the occupation forces, established a new colonial outpost near the place, which is also located within what is called a military zone, and is expanding daily with the support and backing of the occupation, is evidence of this deception and trickery.
