RAMALLAH, November, 26, 2024 (WAFA) – President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas chaired today the Cabinet session at the presidential headquarters in the city of Ramallah.
Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa provided a detailed report of the work of the Palestinian government during the past period, according to the letter of assignment when forming the government, and the efforts it made to serve the homeland and the Palestinian citizens, despite all the difficulties that hinder its work, most notably the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and their land. This is in addition to the withholding of Palestinian clearance funds and other punitive measures by the Israeli occupation.
He added that thanks to the President's directives and the efforts made by the government, work has been done and many goals have been achieved, expressing his hope to reach the political, security, and financial stability, which supports the steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land, noting that the necessary plans have been put in place to implement this and to provide the best service to the Palestinian citizens.
The President briefed the Cabinet on the latest developments in the political situation and the efforts made to stop the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, in accordance with UN Resolution 2735, which calls for a ceasefire, the entry of aid into the Gaza Strip, the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and enabling the State of Palestine to assume its full responsibilities in the Gaza Strip as well as in the West Bank.
The President also briefed the Cabinet on the efforts made to bring about an end to the Israeli attacks in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, as well as to implement the UN General Assembly resolution on the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice on ending the Israeli occupation and settlements.
President Abbas affirmed his full support for the work of the government and its efforts to develop governmental work, in a way that serves the interests of citizens and alleviates their suffering due to the difficult circumstances.
The President stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors, and civil society institutions, in a way that contributes to strengthening the steadfastness of the citizens, stressing the importance of implementing the plans in place, so that the citizens can see their positive results on the ground.
